The second edition of the annual Golden Penny Soup Festival literally transformed the Ibadan Recreation Club into a culinary haven.
The event, which congregated no fewer than 8,000 attendees, all sponsored by Golden Penny Semovita – My Soup’s first choice.
The cooking festival is annually organized to celebrate Nigerian cuisine. There were various soup stalls featuring favorites like Egusi, Banga, Ila Alasepo and Efo Riro, all paired with Semovita.
Beyond the food, the festival offered a diverse lineup of activities including cooking competitions and dancing contests to keep the participants fully entertained.
There were also master classes led by renowned Chefs, Geena, Amaka and Dee, who provided culinary education to the participants.
There was a dedicated Kids’ Arena to ensure fun for all ages with bouncing castles and face painting.
KieKie and Password, the co-hosts of the event added pump to the event along with musical performances by Crayon and Segun Johnson.
Lucky attendees won prizes including cash, kitchen appliances and product hampers in a festive raffle draw.
Having successfully organized this second edition, the Golden Penny Soup Festival has established itself as a key programme dedicated to celebrating Nigerian culinary traditions, music and community spirit.
