Ogun and Lagos state governments have announced plans to enforce and prosecute individuals engaging in open defecation, particularly in the border towns they both share. A Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has sentenced a man, Adeola Agbonrin, to 21 years imprisonment for manslaughter. Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo sentenced Agbonrin after he pleaded guilty to a count charge brought against him by the Lagos State Government. The convict was originally charged with the murder of Matha Farinmade, later Agbonrin applied for a plea bargain agreement, leading to the reduction of the charge to manslaughter. A 32-year-old woman, Nnoma Nze, accused of stealing N100 million from her employer, has been arraigned before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State. Nze is facing three counts bordering on conspiracy, fraud and stealing, brought by the police against her. A driver whose identity could not be established was confirmed dead on Tuesday following a fatal crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
