Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, has once again demonstrated his commitment to his constituents by empowering 500 widows with cash gifts and food items.
The initiative, tagged “A Widows’ Valentine Special,” took place on Monday, at The Unity Centre, the Constituency Office of the lawmaker at Elliot Bus Stop, Ifako-Ijaiye.
The event, in its fourth edition, provided financial relief and essential support to widows in the constituency.
The food items distributed included rice, garri, semo, spaghetti, vegetable oil, tomato paste, salt, sugar, custard, among others.
Adewale emphasised the importance of uplifting vulnerable women, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and cared for.
“Widows play a vital role in our society, yet many face economic hardship. This initiative is about showing them love, care, and ensuring they are not forgotten,” he stated.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciations for the lawmaker’s generosity, saying the financial and material supports would help ease their burdens.
The event was graced by traditional rulers, community leaders, as well as religious and political figures, all of whom commended Adewale for his continuous dedication to empowering the people.
