Quite unknown to many, lime has lots of health benefits to improve human medical status.

From being great source of antioxidants, boosting immunity, promoting healthy skin to reducing risk of heart disease, lime has the natural power to make human health better.

Despite the fact that limes come in sour taste and be hard if eaten whole, their zest and juice are often used in marmalades, jams, salad, dressing, sauces, fish, meat and cocktails.

Lime belong to the Rutaceae family also known as the citrus family.

They come in several varieties, including Persian limes and key limes.

Limes are small, green citrus fruits known for their distinct tart, sharp tanginess, and mildly perfumed smell.

Though some people may experience acidroflux from eating limes or drinking the juice due to its acidity, it takes nothing away from its health values.

Other digestive symptoms of lime include heartburn, nausea, vomiting and difficult to swallow without adversely affecting the health benefits of lime.
