Amuwo Odofin extols late Folashade Ajao

Politicians and public figures in and beyond Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State, Nigeria have been visiting the residence of Alhaja Memunat Ajao, the President, National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Lagos State chapter, to conmeserate with her on the death of her beloved daughter, Alhaja Sarat Folashade Ajao.

Folashade Ajao was a former Secretary to the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Council before joined Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Her remains has since been buried according to  Islamic rites.

First, a candle night procession took off at the Festac Extension, Alaba Express to the Fatgbems Filling Station through the new road and back at the take off point.

The tribute night featured accolades being shawered on the deceased who also served as the supervisory councilor for Agriculture and later, Supervisor for Library Services at Amuwo Odofin LG.

Religious leaders commended late Shade Ajao’s generousity, saying “she gave generously for the work of Allah”.

They prayed that Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her al-janat firdaus.

Also, members of NCWS, community leaders and Amuwo Odofin residents also extoled Folashade’s good gestures to the indigent people.

They described her as a virtuous woman humility and service to humanity, whose passing is not only a deep loss to her family but also to the entire Amuwo Odofin local government area.

Alhaja Ajao, the chairperson of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Women Forum and an apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin Local Government, as been receiving sympathisers from far and near, including: former deputy governors in Lagos state, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Mrs. Serah Sosan, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, now a Senator; Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Chief of Staff to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Commissioner for special duties, Hon. Gbenga Oyerinde and fomer Lagos State first lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola.

Others are, Hon. Yinka Esho, Hon. George Adegeye, Hon. Rauf Olawale Age and Hon. Abdoulbaq Ladi Balogun
The Amuwo Odofin LG team was led by the Executive Chairman, Prince Lanre Sanusi, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Maureen Ashara, Folashade’s former supervisory councillor’s colleagues, former and present councilors.

Others are, the 96 years old mother of the chief of staff to the president, Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila, Alhaji and Alhaja Disu among others. The visit to the family house of the Ajaos, offering words of comfort and support during this difficult time. Visits like this one highlights the importance of Alhaja Memunat Ajao who is a community leader, women leader and a politician of high repute.

The visit likely brought solace to the family, reminding them they are not alone in their time of grief. It’s heartwarming to see people come together to *pay* their respects and offering support and prayers to help the bereaved family navigate the challenging time.
