ICPC arrests Lagos LCDA chairman Muibi Folawiyo for large scale corruption

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has arrested Muibi Folawiyo, Chairman of the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), regarding allegations of large-scale corruption.

The spokesperson of ICPC Demola Bakare, while confirming this stated that Folawiyo is under investigation for stealing public funds, diverting resources for personal use, and bypassing official procedures income.

He said that, “He was arrested at the council secretariat on 42 Broad Street, Lagos, after repeatedly ignoring invitations which he acknowledged.

“He is currently in our custody, having been arrested by a team from the ICPC Headquarters. He has been granted administrative bail and is expected to report back as the investigation continues.”
